We believe that a quality education is every childs right. It includes life skills and factual knowledge: students will become life-long learners with
strong social and academic skills. In addition to core academics, we believe a good education includes a broad understanding of the worlds cultures and environment as well as activities such as sports, drama, arts, music, vocational training, and community service. We encourage critical and creative
thinking, and strive to teach students how to live a healthy, constructive life. Standardized
tests are not the only (or best) measure of success.
Our schools are safe and caring places for students. We value and respect every child equally. We believe that every students needs and abilities deserve our respect and attention. We have high expectations and believe that every student can achieve her or his individual best. Healthy meals and physical activity enable
students to focus on their learning. We believe that children learn best when class sizes are small. We value the relationships between teachers, students,
and families as an important part of education. As partners in our childrens education, the contributions of parents and the community are invaluable. Education is a responsibility we all share in this community. |
